Lindsey Reinhart

Registered Midwife

I graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at Laurentian University in Ontario when I turned 40 years old. Living in New Brunswick at the time with my partner and three children, I travelled to Ontario over four years, sometimes with my family, sometimes on my own, and once with my 4 year in tow. This was the only way I could achieve my dream of becoming a midwife. I now live and work in rural Nova Scotia. I am of settler European descent, moved a lot growing up and married a Nova Scotian.

Midwifery care rooted in community is safe, empowering, holistic and individualised. It is a beautiful model of care I wish for everyone who wants to access it.

I thank the Innu Midwifery Program for welcoming me in 2025 as one of their locum registered midwives. It is a HUGE privilege and honour to support the student learning and pregnant families on their journeys, and I look forward to returning every time!
